I have so many ideas for the site and I have decided to do something radical, you get to tell me what to work on.
Install ad-hoc reporting system - this would be an off the shelf solution that would allow the members of the exchange to create and share reports against the non-confidential data of the exchange. To quote "Wall Street", information is key or I think I am quoting the movie "Wall Street"
Install Flash-based virtual chat - Researching alternatives to Second Life, I found a flash based virtual world that can be modified and improved. This would be a custom virtual world hosted by the ISE. This would cost money and would mean the issuing of 150,000 ISE shares to make this happen.
Improve Static Reporting and Charting - Instead of an ad-hoc system, I would create 8 to 10 new reports and charts to be run by the members of the exchange.
Improve In-World Trading - Switch the current in-world trading system to be a HUD.
Reactivate E-Mail Notification of Trades - this is a pretty simple one and I will probably do it anyway.
Improve In-World Building - Many members have complained that the ISE doesn't have the in-world presence it should. So I would focus my efforts, with help from others on getting a new building, etc.
Build a Linden Currency Exchange
Create Youtube like software for sharing videos in-world - I have already created software for another site that takes in-video converts it to flash and is basically a Youtube clone. The difference would be to still have the Youtube software but also make it easy to integrate with Second Life.
Install Open Sim on this server so members of the exchange can evaluate it.
Other - Do you have a better idea, then tell us.

I'm very intrigued by the OpenSim node running here, less so by the "flash virtual chat.
More and flexible reporting and statistic tools are almost always a good thing!
I'd be hesitant to "tie in" too closely to LL or SL right now or wherever there will be uncertainty over regulations or changes... eg. running a Linden Currency Exchange or expanding the In-World Trading. I "enjoy" that we are pretty independant and untouchable out-of-SL trading here (other than the Linden itself being our currancy). Perhaps the new CEO will be making changes, or (the best thing) he'll issue statements giving assurance of what's what. The uncertanty of "legality and interpretations" is not good. To put effort into something that ties in more to LL right now seems to "push" short-term gains since no one knows how long it may be allowed to continue. I don't want to see effort wasted.
The exception to that last paragraph might be the in-world trading. Can you tell the "mechanism" that trades are done through? How much trading happens here on the web site vs. from in world? Maybe in-world trading is utilized - I've looked at it but hadn't used it. Anyway, (since I think this is minimal now), if "lost" it wouldn't be much of a handicap to this ISE web site. On the other hand, if expansion/visibility of the "physical" building and "presence" in SL brings in more investors (and they want to trade in-world), then this may deserve some looking into.

Know I'm going to be a bit boring but any chance that you could tidy up some of the usability on the site?
Some of the things that bug me are:
1. If I cancel an order I like to return to the page that I cancel it?
2. Cancel orders on the Account Screen rather then having to go into each company and cancel there.
3. Ability to trade from the Account Screen. Be nice to top things up or add to an order from there.
Certainly more reporting or data options would be great.
One thing that I would like is the ability to store "Book Value" of shares I've bought. So if I bought 10000L$ worth of shares it would be recorded and the current value can then be compared quickly.
Its something my RL share account has and can be quite useful especially in relation to stop loss orders etc... You can see which shares are performing well or not.
Instead of Interest, maybe the value of total dividends received to date?
Offline
Something I would like to see is a history of the number of shares so that we can see when share buybacks occurred. This is important both for determining the amount of value a company has returned to investors as well as doing a true analysis of dividends. Investors like to be able to see whether dividends are increasing or decreasing, but since only the dividends per share are shown on the research page we can't do a proper analysis of a stock with a changing number of shares.

Voted Linden Currency Exchange. I believe it could have some potential and is a logical extension for any SL Exchange.

If i read the title correctly and literally enough, what the next BIG project should be...
All of the alternatives look very interresting, and it's hard for me not to hold a subjective view on the priority, so i'll just name them all, and comment on what benefits i see (both financially for the ISE and for the traders community as a whole, i can ofcourse not speak for everybody, so my view will be somewhat subjective but i'll do my best to be as objective as possible)...
Beginning from top,
Nr1. Ad-Hoc Reporting System:
Without knowing specifically what you mean by that right now i believe the forums are sufficient enough for people to post their technical analysis and what ever opinions they may have about any particular stock such as wenden xeno recently demonstrated, yes it would be even better to have a more "pro" interface on those things, but is it necesary ? Does it bring the extra "umf" to the exchange ? I'm not sure, so let's go on...
Nr2 Flash Based Virtual Chat:
When i first read the words "Virtual chat and 150k share issue" in one sentence i thought is Cocky instane ? But when i think about it, if the platform is a "smooth" one, perhaps it could be used for other things than just chat ? It could infact add alot of value to the exchange as a whole. But i'd really like to see what it can do. On a side note a realtime chat for people that not necesary login too often (perhaps in a seperate frame so it can always run regardless of what you do on the site) would be very nice. That itself should not be too complicated, but then again, the question here is whats the BIG thing, right... let's move on,
Nr3 Improve Static Reporting and Charting,
OMG i'm getting a "Relative Strength Index" orasm here
The already nice charting that is, there are ofcourse alot of elements i'd like to see added, first off the feature wich would instantly make the charts more "sexy" is if we could get a "dropdown menu" allowing us to specify range instead of the 2 defaults wich are 20 trades and 7 days. Also and i'm not sure if that's possible (with the current chartsoftware you use) to overlap 2 charts in one window, giving the possibility to for example draw the chart over dividends paid over current price (not that i'm unable to do this already manually in excel, since ISE is the only exchange that provides longterm stats through csv, but if you could integrate that in the website, i would save alot of time). Another cool feature would ofcourse be adding MACD and RSI to the charts if you can do overlapping in one window. Ok, over to next one...
Nr4 Inworld Trading,
Personally i don't think inworld trading is neceasary at all, the reason it's delayed so much that it takes less time to actually login to my account and perform a trade rather than do a inworld trade, i don't think this one needs improvement other than from LL's side.
Nr5 E-Mail Notification of Trades,
I don't think that one is completely necesay since i already do check my accounts fairly often, it doesnt take me anylonger to login to my mail than it does to login to my accounts.
nr6 Improve in-world Building,
I don't think an exchange needs a presence inworld at all, an atm can be placed almost anywhre and pay a small comission to the land owner, so i actualy dont see the benefit (however keep in mind i was running a scripting/product directed towards the gambling biz wich generated 1,5mill while i held zero land, instead i paid commission on revenues, so i might have a view wich
is outside the mainstream here, but i do believe an exchange can operate completely without any land at all). In comparsion Luke plans and does build tons of museums does that increase revenues youthink ?
Nr7 Currency Exchange,
Ithink this kind of service could add some value, while i personally could not benefit since i've been boycotting paypal since 2006, but ofcourse most people arent as me, and they may find this service useful. Ithink it could add some value.
Nr8 Create Youtube like software for sharing videos,
I'm not sure i get this one, on one hand we've already got youtube, but you're saying you could host a website service directed only towards SL ? in that case that could be interresting. But can't we use youtube already ?
Nr9 Install Open Sim on this server so members of the excha...
Sounds like a good idea to me, atleast for the future, opensim is sure here to stay.
Nr10 Other...
And this is where my real supersubjective argumentation starts (just kidding), Ithink alot of the above are well thoughthrough examples on what could be done to increase the value of ISE, but wich is right, wich is wrong, wich is soso... I can't answer that, therefore i chose to comment them instead, ithink theres alot of value in each. But if there's one thing i'd valuate above all it would be derivatives/futures...
I've recently had some chat with afew ceo's about accounting, and about other kind of services, the way i've ALWAYS priced my services is on future value, i never specify my rates on the current, i always say, if this benefits your biz i deserve this and that bonus + compensation. What would have been great is if this could have been integrated into a true derivative market. With both 30day+ calls and puts. On different price ranges, reason the option market currently has "failed" is because 1 trader (wich i don't have to mention the name of) has held opions for months and even sold at 10x-30x the value... Now if we had different price ranges these opions strike prices were at ther would be no such problem, the trader (wich i believe holds 99% of the current opions) would have come down on earth.
There are ofcourse differnt ways to do this i believe this derivative system could have been automized, also it could bring extra value to the market.
All in all, i sort of see most value in #1 charting , and #2 derivative market. But despite my attempt to look at it in the most objective way, it's still very subjective, it's what i want and so i'm not gonna say this is right, because it's just my opinion.
I have actually not voted on any of the alternatives, becasue i dont believe voting necesarily is the most accurate way, the best way is to look at the argumentation. Ithink all alternatives are fairly valuable but mostly ithink charting and derivatives should be the priority.

Thanks everyone, looks like reporting is winning by a landslide. I can understand that.

People like stats ![]()
Btw. when it comes to minor suggestions, i listed big things earlier, but there are afew smaller wishes i have to the "static reporting category"...
On my account page, under:
Bank Account
You currently have deposited in the ISE: $L338.15
You currently have earned in interest: $L1,262.35
How about replacing the line "you have earned in interrest" with Total value of your open buy orders ?
The reason, when i do monthly reports to check where i am, i have to either cancel them all, or i have to calc them (one by one), and it takes alot of time.
Or how about adding a line "average cost" in the shareholdings table. Unadjusted for dividends and for stocksales (the reason: this should only be used as a measure for traders, not as a yield calculator for investors... what i mean by that, when i flip shares all data i need is my avg purchase price, gains from dividends and stocksales are totaly irrelevant here, and it can also as wse prove messup the formula ending up showing something like Profit/Loss: %-15315713587135.1331)
Perhaps you could you add a button "Cancel all outstanding orders" (i often place 10-30 different small orders, and thats alot of clicks to adjust them slightly up or down). Or instead, drop that (cancel all orders idea) and do this: add the funcion allowing us to adjust our current open orders by 0.01 at a time, for example...
If i have a bid order on ise at 3.04 and an ask order at 3.24, if i clicked the "add 1cent" button, it would change the bid to 3.05 and the sell to 3.25, and ofcorse similar fuction called "reduce by 1cent"... this would save even more time and ithink it would ease your bandwith usage alot.
Can the transaction/account history pages, be merged into 1 report ?
In the general trade window, i wish there was a new column, or to be honest a couple :p ... the most important dividend yield (or whatever profitability measure to easily compare stocks). Other data wich i also consider useful wich could be place here in addition to the "research page", volume last 30 days (or 7 days, or perhaps pr day last xx days, i find the daily volume changing alot, so intraday isnt very accurate way to see whats moving and what not). Less important but could aswell be considered a small frame in a corner called "quick trade" where ppl could instantly trade a stock by typing the symbol + limit + ordertype. Another less important factor, this is a pure visual one, in the trade window on a particular company, perhaps displaying all orders in a price range merged in 1 line, for example instead of:
Number of Shares - Price
1000 - L$1.00
100 - L$ 1.00
1 L$ - 1.00
Orders - Number of Shares - Price
3 - 1101 L$ 1.00
Now if you choose to do this, it's important that the queue # is indentified on my account page, so a trader can know how far away he/she is from the best bid, otherwise it could just be confusing.
Perhaps somebody has some other/better or more important observations wich werent mentioned ? Or suggestions to mines ?
In general what i wish is to spend less time clicking and calcing, and more time trading or posting on forums or perhaps playing snake and getting 152 points everytime.

These are some great small suggestions and I went ahead and did the first one.

This one is done.
Today, I will get a new report that will show a grid of all securities, dividends paid over it's life, dividend yield based on last dividend*12, number of press releases, all time high, all time low, current price, 7 day moving average, 30 day moving average, IPO price.
That should give a quick easy to see high level comparison of all stocks.
Offline
Thats really, really nice, i also like the creative idea of press releases as an indicator, it sure is a valuable indicator aswell.
Looking forward to see that grid.

The new report looks very nice, except it looks like the IPO price of CBE is 0.00 (not sure what it actually was).
Offline
I put it as 1, if anyone knows it to be different, please tell me.
Offline
I see all the IPO prices at 1.00 except ISEO, BAM and GIIF. I don't see CBE at 0.00
Offline
I changed CBE to 1.00. They didn't IPO on this exchange. I will add in any extra dividends for them too, to make the picture is accurate. I will get with Cybertek and find out about previous dividends too.
